WordPress theme detector

Find a WordPress theme from loaded asset paths and public stylesheet metadata.

How to use this tool

  1. Enter the WordPress website URL you want to inspect.
  2. Choose Analyze website. The scanner checks the HTML and up to two same-origin theme stylesheets.
  3. Review the theme name, version, author, parent-theme reference, and evidence where available.

Example

Example: a loaded /wp-content/themes/example/ asset can identify a theme directory. Its public style.css may supply Theme Name, Author, Version, and Template fields.

What to know

Loaded directories are reported as candidates. Stylesheet metadata can identify the advertised theme name, but cannot prove that every file is current or that the theme is unmodified. Custom content paths and combined assets may hide evidence.

Frequently asked questions

Can this find a parent theme?

Yes, when a scanned theme stylesheet exposes a Template field. Otherwise the parent is reported as not identified.

Why is only a directory name shown?

The page exposed a theme asset path, but its metadata was missing, blocked, hosted elsewhere, or unavailable within the scan budget.

Will it detect themes behind a CDN?

Theme asset paths may remain visible, but metadata is fetched only from the scanned page’s own origin. CDN-hosted stylesheets are not fetched separately.
