Shopify theme detector

Identify publicly reported Shopify theme details from a live website.

How to use this tool

  1. Enter a public Shopify storefront URL.
  2. Choose Analyze website. The scanner fetches the public page without logging in.
  3. Review reported theme metadata, available version information, and the detection evidence.

Example

Example: a store exposing Shopify.theme metadata may reveal a schema name, schema version, and Theme Store ID. These fields are reported only when present.

What to know

The scanner reads public storefront HTML. Merchant-assigned names may differ from the original theme family. Missing theme IDs do not prove a custom theme; headless and JavaScript-only storefronts may not expose theme metadata.

Frequently asked questions

Can this identify every Shopify theme?

No. The scanner reports exposed metadata and returns not identified when there is insufficient evidence. It does not guess from visual appearance.

Are names and versions verified against the Theme Store?

No. They are the values publicly reported by the website. A schema name is stronger evidence than a merchant-assigned name, but either can be modified.

Does this use a Shopify admin API?

No. It reads a public webpage without credentials or access to private store information.
